Otok LastovoLastovo is an island, town and municipality in Dubrovnik-Neretva county in Croatia. The island takes an area of 46 km2 and has a population of 835 inhabitants. The municipality itself is little bit bigger and has surface of 56 km2 because it contains also 46 islands of Lastovo archipelago. Town of Lastovo is located on a top of the hill on northern edge of the island. With population of 451 inhabitatants it is biggest settlement on the island.The island is located about 13 km south of Korcula, 32 km south of Mljet and 112 km east from Italian coast making it one of the most remoted inhabitated islands in Adriatic. It has regular daily ferry connection with Split (also stops in Vela Luka and Stari Grad) in the village of Uble on western coast of the island. Although it is part of Dubrovnik county it doesnt have regular connections with Dubrovnik. The island is also connected with bridge with smaller island Prezba in village Pasadur (meaning passage in local dialect). Because of this part of village Pasadur is located on Prezba island making it only inhabited island of Lastovo archipelago |
